My name is Jamie Akers and I’m many things.

Professional Work

Test Leadership

I am a big fan of Ken Blanchard’s books, especially The One Minute Manager. I have demonstrated experience of leading test teams across leading software companies. I have particular interest in:

• Training and coaching teams to upskill them in Test Automation.
• Drawing on my Agile ScrumMaster background to improve project process.
• Using both of the above to deliver solutions that demonstrate real quality.

With qualifications in Mental Health First Aid and experience of multicultural, neurodiverse teams, I am used to bringing together unique individuals to deliver results.

Automation Architect

Alongside leadership I love directing solutions that are automated as it allows the wonderful people I work with to use their minds for something that needs their brainpower and lets the machines do the dull repetitive work. I have experience in diverse sectors; from aviation security to big data and even the natural environment. Problems I have specific interest in:

• Areas where automation has previously been seen as “impossible”.
• Platforms that are not your typical web-based e-stores.
• Products that look to improve the world as well as profit.
